Upcoming trail work sessions – Sep 27, 29, & 30th
Join us to build a new singletrack trail and upgrade existing trail in the Fight Trail area! Our work sessions this week will be Wednesday 3:00 – 7:00, Saturday 8:30 – 12:30 and Sunday 2:00 – 6:00.
On Wednesday we will be building new trail, linking granite ridges with sustainable trail: grubbing organics, moving rocks and relocating dirt. Meet at the cul-de-sac at the very end of Alabaster Way in the Governor’s Brook subdivision in Spryfield (access from Drysdale Road). Bring sturdy shoes, work gloves and water. You don’t need to commit to the full 4-hour session! Join us when you can for as long as you can. If you arrive late, follow the BLUE flags to find us. Note there are 2 trails starting from this point! Take the trail on the right, flagged blue, with “Trail Under Construction” sign.
A generous grant from MEC has allowed us to hire TrailFlow Outdoor Adventures to lead the construction of this trail, but we need volunteers to stretch the contract funds as far as possible. Thanks MEC and thanks volunteers!
Details of Saturday and Sunday work sessions TBA.
These trails are part of the McIntosh Run Trail System, an approved network of singletrack trails for non-motorized recreation on public land between Spryfield and Herring Cove.
Happy trails!
